This is comfort food to me. I found the salt to be just right because my spaghetti sauve had basil and other herbs. I subbed ground turkey for the beef and it worked well. Thinking ground lamb would work too.

This is a really substantial hearty casserole And I really do love these all in one casserole meals because they're not they're not only convenient to make but they're so good My only comment about this particular recipe is that its a bit on the bland side A full pound of ground beef being seasoned with only a touch of salt and pepper as the only seasonings doesnt go a long way in enhancing the overall flavor of the dish As written its a good dish to begin with but it needs more seasonings perhaps some fresh basil or a bit of sage thyme and dry mustard powder to give the whole dish a more pronounced flavor profile I know some reviewers asked about pan size and x baking was said to be the recommended size of baking dish to use I would change the baking dish to x so the…Read More layers lie flatter in the pan and the center has a better chance of heating as thoroughly as the outer portions for me the center portion wasnt as cooked as thoroughly as the outer portions along the edge of the pan

I made this for dinner a couple of nights ago and it was really quite good. I really liked how all the ingredients came together to make one satisfying dish. The only thing is I think i could have used a slightly larger baking dish since mine was so full and I only used 8 oz. of noodles. I placed a baking sheet under, in case of boil over, but had none. Very tasty!

Is an 8 x 8 pan really the correct size for this. It seems as if that would be too small for the amount of ingredients listed.

Hi there! Yes! An 8-x 8-inch pan is the correct size. The recipe calls for only 8-ounces of noodles, which isn't a full bag size. Hope that clarifies! Enjoy!
