Here's a way to take a simple summer vegetable and jazz it up all year long.
What You'll Need
- 1 package (10 ounces) frozen peas
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1 teaspoon (1 small clove) chopped garlic
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
What to Do
- Prepare the peas according to the package directions; drain.
- Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat and sauté the garlic and onion until golden brown. Stir in the ketchup, the peas, and simmer 5 to 8 minutes, or until hot. Serve hot.
Notes
f you prefer, you could use a drained 17-ounce can of peas instead of the frozen ones. You don't even have to heat them first. Just be sure they're heated through after adding them to the skillet.
