FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fort Lauderdale, FL (July 8, 2007) — If you ever wondered how ice cream is developed and mass-produced, you'll want to tune in to the Mr. Food show on July 9. John Harrison, Official Taster for Edy's & Dreyer's Ice Cream, joins television food personality Mr. Food to talk about his unusual job responsibilities.
Mr. Harrison will show Mr. Food viewers his way of tasting the ice cream for good quality. Using his special gold spoon, Mr. Harrison swirls, smacks, and spits to determine whether the ice cream is good enough to send to stores. It appears to be a strange process but if anyone knows ice cream, it's Mr. Harrison. His taste buds are insured by Edy's for $1 million, and that's just to eat ice cream on the job every day! He also developed the third most popular ice cream flavor in America, Cookies 'n' Cream.
This Mr. Food segment shows the "behind the scenes" work that goes into picking the very best ice cream. It will help viewers learn to do their own taste-testing ― with or without a gold spoon.
