- 20 Min
Indian cooking of yesterday certainly has made its way into our hearts and bellies today...and it's sure a lot easier now, too!
What You'll Need
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped (about 3/4 cup)
- 2 teaspoons curry powder
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (12 ounce) package wonton skins (26 to 30 pieces)
- 1 egg, beaten
- Cooking spray
What to Do
-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
-
Soak raisins in warm water 10 minutes, then drain.
-
Meanwhile, in a medium-sized skillet, saute beef and onion until browned. Drain off fat, then add drained raisins, curry, cumin, garlic, salt and pepper; mix well.
-
Moisten edges of each wonton skin with beaten egg, then spoon 1 teaspoon of beef mixture into center of each skin. Fold each skin in half to form a triangle and seal edges.
-
Place samosas onto prepared cookie sheet and spray each one, evenly with cooking spray.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes until bottoms are golden and crisp.
Notes
You can make these a day ahead of time and reheat them on a cookie sheet in a 300 degrees F. oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until hot.

At first I wasn't sure what a samosa was - thought it was a drink. I guess I could imagine what the finished product would look like - but a picture would be real nice.
