If you've ever thought that hot dogs by themselves were a little bland, then this chili dog recipe is sure to get your mouth watering with anticipation. What You'll Need
- 3 tablespoon vegetable oil, divided
- 3/4 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound hot dogs
- 6 hot dog buns, split
What to Do

In a large saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and onions and cook 5 to 7 minutes or until no pink remains in beef and onions are tender.

Reduce heat to low and add remaining ingredients except hot dogs and buns. Simmer 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat remaining tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook hot dogs to desired doneness.

Place hot dogs in buns and top with ground beef mixture.

Serve immediately with any remaining ground beef mixture on side.
