Think you can't grill a coated steak? If seeing Country Grilled Steak doesn't make a believer out of you, tasting it will...and it's sure to become a family favorite!
What You'll Need
- 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 (8- to 10-ounce) rib eye steaks
What to Do
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except steaks; mix well. Dip each steak into mixture and pat breading firmly into steak, coating evenly.
- Grill steaks 10 to 12 minutes, or until desired doneness, turning them over once during cooking.
Note
This works just as well on an indoor grill or, if you prefer, in the broiler. But if you're broiling it then, after you coat the steak, spray it with cooking spray so that the coating will get crisp and brown.
