This is a new and exciting way to prepare an old favorite and still take advantage of grilling outside. (And no heating up the kitchen in warm weather!)
What You'll Need
- 1/4 cup ketchup or chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon maple-flavored syrup or brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, divided
- 2 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoon instant minced onions
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
What to Do
-
In a small bowl, combine all glaze ingredients: ketchup or chili sauce, maple-flavored syrup or brown sugar, vegetable oil, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
-
In a large bowl, combine all remaining ingredients; mix well.
-
On a double thickness of heavy-duty aluminum foil, shape mixture into a loaf. Fold sides of foil up to form a "pan." Brush glaze over meat loaf.
-
Place meat loaf, in its foil pan, on grill over medium-hot coals. Cover with hood of grill or aluminum foil tent.
-
Cook 30 to 40 minutes, brushing occasionally with glaze, until no pink remains in center of loaf.
