Give our Muy Bueno Tacos a try and you'll know why everyone is saying that they're "very good" (that's where the "muy bueno" part comes from)! One bite and you'll know why the simplest things are the best!
What You'll Need
- 1 to 1 pounds ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped, divided
- 1/2 of a medium-sized green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tablespoons Taco Seasoning
- 1/2 cup mild picante sauce
- 12 taco shells
- 1 to 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup chopped ripe tomato
What to Do
-
Preheatthe oven to 350 degrees F.
-
In a large skillet, brown ground beef, 1/2 cup onions, and bell pepper over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, or until no pink remains in beef. Drain off excess liquid and stir in Taco Seasoning and picante sauce; mix well.
-
Reduce heat to low and simmer 3 to 4 minutes; remove from heat. Place taco shells on a cookie sheet and bake 5 to 7 minutes, or until crisp.
- Remove from oven and fill each shell 1/3 full with meat mixture, then top with remaining onion, lettuce, cheese, and tomato.
Notes
You can also top each of these with a dollop of sour cream or guacamole sauce, if you'd like.
