For an untraditional turn on a traditional favorite, serve this at your Labor Day barbecue and let the juice from the oranges combine with the sizzling steaks. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
What You'll Need
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- Grated peel of 1 orange
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 4 (8-ounce) boneless beef loin strip steaks
What to Do
- In a large resealable plastic storage bag, combine all the ingredients except the steaks; mix well. Add the steaks and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, turning occasionally.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the steaks from the marinade and discard the marinade; grill the steaks for 5 to 6 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness beyond that. Serve immediately.
Notes
These can also be broiled for about the same time if the weather keeps you from enjoying an outdoor barbecue.
