Pressure Cooker Corned Beef
Cooking corned beef is a snap, especially with a pressure cooker! Check out our simple instructions.
Notes
If you don't have a pressure cooker, no problem! Just place the corned beef and pickling spices in a soup pot, add enough water to cover, and simmer for about 1 hour per pound, or until tender and internal temperature is 160 degrees F. Slice across the grain.

I was always taught to allow the pressure cooker to come down to 0 pressure, when cooking meat, to prevent the meat from shrinking in size.

Thank you Rhonda for letting us know about the ELECTRIC pressure cooker & where to get one. My husband bought me one 2 years ago & I have never used it, because of previous horror stories. I am sure to look for an electric one now, because of your comment. Thanks so much.

You'll only have any real problems with a pressure cooker is if you use it incorrectly. Electric or stovetop, pressure is pressure, no matter what the heat source. I've used a stovetop cooker for 40 years and had only one incident in all that time....and it was my fault because I had small bits of stuff in there that clogged the steam vent. That was about 40 years ago, one of my first attempts. Use the one your husband gave you, it will be fine.

Sounds wonderful. However I use an electric pressure cooker. It's much safer that the old top of the stove model. I love mine and I use it on a regular basis. You can find them on QVC.com
