What You'll Need
- 1 (1-pound) flank steak (1/2-inch thick)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
What to Do
- Score steak diagonally across grain at 3/4-inch intervals. Place flank steak in a large heavy-duty zip-top plastic bag. Combine honey and remaining 6 ingredients; stir well. Pour marinade over steak; seal bag securely. Turn bag to coat steak.
- Preheat the grill. Remove steak form marinade, reserving marinade. Place marinade in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat, and set aside.
- Grill steak, covered, over medium-high heat (350 degrees to 400 degrees) 5 to 6 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness, basting occasionally with boiled marinade. Slice steak diagonally across grain into 1/4-inch-thick slices.
Notes
No time to marinate? No problem! For this recipe, you just score the top of the steak and let it soak in a pungent marinade while you heat up the grill. The flavors ooze into the meat in no time!
