Cheese Crisps
- MAKES
- 4 dozen
- COOK TIME
- 50 Min
These are a cross between a cracker and a cookie, so maybe you should make a double batch. After all, it's no more work, and it'll save you from starting all over after they eat up the first batch right away!
What You'll Need
- 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cup self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 48 pecan halves
What to Do
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. In large bowl, combine cheese, flour, butter, and cayenne pepper until well mixed.
- Form into a 12-inch smooth log about 1-1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap log in waxed paper and freeze 1 hour, or until thoroughly chilled. Remove waxed paper and cut into 1/4-inch slices. Press 1 pecan half onto top of each slice.
- Place on baking sheet that has been coated with cooking spray and bake 40 to 45 minutes, or until edges are golden and they easily release from pan.
