Got the gang coming over at the last minute? OK, throw some burgers on the grill and make this bread for your everything else, your everything easy. It's so novel compared to everybody else's regulars.
What You'll Need
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon dried dillweed
- 1 cup (4 ounces) grated Cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 1 garlic clove, crushed, or 1/2 teaspoon bottled garlic
What to Do
- Slice bread in half lengthwise. In a bowl, combine remaining ingredients and spread on one half of the loaf. Put the bread halves together and wrap in aluminum foil.
- While cooking your main course, warm on grill (away from the coals) for about 20 minutes or until cheese melts. Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a change, serve grilled hamburgers or chicken breasts on this instead of buns. You can even start with garlic bread and simply add the dill and cheese.
- To make indoors, heat in a 350 degree F oven for about 20 minutes or just until the cheese melts. This can even make a great appetizer!
