Easy Cheddar Biscuits

If everyone's tummies are rumbling, just whip up some of these Easy Cheddar Biscuits. In such a short amount of time and with only 5 ingredients, you can make a delectable, yet effortless treat.
What You'll Need
- 1 1/2 cup self-rising flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
What to Do

Preheat f oven to 425 degrees F. Combine flour and sugar in a large bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is crumbly. Add milk, stirring just until moist. Stir in cheese.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead with floured hands 3 or 4 times. Pat or roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes or until golden.
Notes
We've made these cheesy biscuits with both butter and butter-flavored shortening and love 'em both. Use whatever's on hand!

I added a little bit of garlic powder and just did the drop biscuits and they turned out great. Easy - peasy.

Some Old Bay seasoning, say 1/2 tsp or so, added to this will go a long way toward duplicating Red Lobster's offerings. Or, mix some Old Bay with a little melted butter and brush the tops of the hot biscuits just out of the oven.

This is a lot like the biscuits they serve at Red Lobster. Just add 2-4 tablespoons of chopped pickled jalapenos and it's theirs! You can drop these rather than rolling them out and cutting them. It's a heck of a lot easier and faster too!
