Holiday Corn Bread

The old-fashioned goodness of corn bread teams with so many of our holiday favorites. Whether for your Thanksgiving feast or when Santa comes to town, this easy holiday bread will make you a hero!
What You'll Need
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
- 1/3 cup (5-1/3 tablespoons) butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
What to Do
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, coconut, nuts, butter, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg; mix until it's consistency of sand. In a small bowl, combine milk and egg.
- Make a well in middle of cornmeal mixture and add milk mixture; stir until completely moist. Pour into greased 8-inch square baking dish.
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown and a wooden toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean Cool slightly, then cut into serving-sized pieces.
