Bread sticks aren't hard to make - just a twist of the wrist and you'll be saying, "Gee, that was easy!"
What You'll Need
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 1 pound prepared bread dough (see Note)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
What to Do
-
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Coat 2 baking sheets with cooking spray.
-
Pour oil into a 9- x 13-inch baking dish. In another 9- x 13-inch baking dish, combine cheese and sesame seeds; set aside.
-
Divide dough into 16 pieces and shape each piece into a ball. With lightly floured hands, roll each ball into a rope about 12 inches long. Dip each rope in oil, then into sesame seed mixture, coating evenly. Gently twist each rope several times to create a spiraled look, then lay bread sticks about 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
-
Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until crisp and golden brown.
Notes
Fresh bread dough is usually available in the bakery section of the supermarket. If you don't see it, just ask.
