Times Square, Chinatown, Harlem, and Little Italy are all important parts of New York City. And we can't forget the Lower East Side, the home of the New York Egg Cream. Try one today...without a plane ticket!
What You'll Need
- 3/4 cup chocolate-flavor syrup
- 2 (10-ounce) bottles cold club soda or seltzer water
- 1 1/2 cup cold milk
What to Do
- Pour chocolate syrup into a pitcher then add club soda and stir just until mixed. Add milk and stir just to combine. Immediately pour into tall glasses and serve ice cold.
Notes
Make sure that the club soda (or seltzer) has plenty of carbonation, then drink up...with a straw, of course! You're going to be surprised by how tasty these are and they don't even contain any eggs or cream.

The order in which the ingredients are added is NOT correct. Put desired amount of syrup in a tall gkass Add milk 1/3 way up the glass THEN add cold club soda or sletzer and aggitate with a spoon. THEN the creamy will appear. How do I know? I'm a New Yorker and have made Thousands of these. Add vanilla, chocolate or your favorite ice cream to make an ice cream soda. Optional.. put a swirl of whipped cream on top.
