Chocolate Macaroons

Two favorites-chocolate and coconut-come together in these cookies that'll have your gang raving!
What You'll Need
- 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
What to Do
- Melt chocolate in a large heavy saucepan over low heat. Let cool to room temperature. Stir in coconut and walnuts.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg whites and salt in a small bowl at high speed of an electric beater until foamy. Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form and sugar dissolves (2 to 4 minutes). Fold egg white mixture into chocolate mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets lined with aluminum foil. Bake 10 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
