What You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup ( stick) butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Coat an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray.

  2. In a medium bowl, with an electric beater on medium speed, beat peanut butter, butter, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  3. Blend in vanilla then beat in the flour. Fold in chocolate chips until well combined then spread batter evenly into prepared baking pan.

Do you mean 1 cup chocolate chips or 6 oz? My measuring cup says that 1 cup = 8 oz, not 6.

It really doesn't matter, depends on the size of the bag. IMO, the more chocolate, the better.

Why specify "self-rising flour"? How can I use my regular flour in this recipe?

You can make your own "self-rising flour" by combining 1 cup all purpose flour or whole wheat flour with 1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder and 1/4 tsp salt. Mix well.

I'm drooling...gonna go make a batch right now!
