Crackly Sauce for Ice Cream
- SERVES
- 4
- COOK TIME
- 10 Min
We didn't think ice cream could be made any better than it naturally is, but when we topped it with this Crackly Sauce we were quickly proven wrong! Try it and see what we mean!
What You'll Need
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 1/2 tablespoon water
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted
What to Do
- Combine first 6 ingredients in a small saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 9 minutes or until mixture reaches soft crack stage or candy thermometer registers 280 degrees. Remove from heat; stir in almonds. Spoon immediately over ice cream.
Notes
Make this when you and a couple of friends are in the mood for something crunchy and chock-full of toasted nuts. The warm sauce crackles when it hits cold ice cream. The contrast is so incredible you'll want to eat it all, which is a good thing, since leftovers don't reheat well.
