"Peachy" and "Crispy" are two of our favorite terms when it comes to describing an outta-this-world dessert and, guess what? We can use both of those terms to describe this Peach of a Crisp, so you know it's good! Get ready for this, ladies and gents because this is some good stuff!
What You'll Need
- 1 (29-ounce) can sliced peaches, drained
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
- 1 (11-ounce) package piecrust mix
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
- Vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt
What to Do
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Place peaches in a lightly greased 7- x 11-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon rind, and set aside.
- Combine piecrust mix and brown sugar; sprinkle over peaches. Dot with butter.
- Bake 30 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.
Notes
This dish is very versatile, and there's no need to peel fresh peaches! It works well with any kind of canned peaches, from those in heavy syrup to peaches in their own juice. Just choose the type you'd like to use. But keep the can size close to what the recipe calls for so that you'll have the right amount of crust for the fruit. Yum!!
