What You'll Need
- 3 slices white bread, torn into 1-inch pieces
- 2 1/2 cup milk
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon confectioners' sugar
What to Do
- Preheat the over to 350 degree F. Place the bread in a 11/2-quart casserole dish that has been coated with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the milk, eggs, granulated sugar, butter, and salt; mix well. Pour over the bread and let sit for 5 minutes until absorbed by the bread. Place the casserole dish in a large baking pan of hot water, with just enough water to go halfway up the sides of the casserole dish.
- Bake for 80 to 90 minutes, or until the top is set and golden. Carefully remove from the hot water bath and allow to cool for 20 minutes.
- Cover and chill for at least 3 hours before serving. When ready to serve, sprinkle with the confectioners' sugar.
