White Raisin Sauce
- COOK TIME
- 5 Min
This might be Pennsylvania Dutch, or it might be pure Midwest ... it's a toss-up. But one thing I know, it's perfect as a ham glaze or for adding a touch of elegance to any meal
What You'll Need
- 1 cup white raisins
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoon butter
- Dash of salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup currant or seedless raspberry jelly
What to Do
- In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the raisins, sugar, and water; heat over medium-low heat until warm and blended, about 5 minutes. Add the butter, salt, and pepper; heat until well blended. Mix in the jelly just until warmed through.
- Makes 1-1/2 cups.
Notes
Pour this sauce over a 5-pound canned ham and bake at 325F. for 1 hour. Serve the glaze from the pan over the ham slices and WOW!!
