We sure hope you're hungry 'cause this homemade sandwich recipe is gonna leave you feelin' nice and stuffed. While the extra bread in the middle makes this Cheesy High-Rise Club sandwich a special treat, it's really the secret spread that makes this sandwich one of our all-time favorites. If you're expecting guests for a lunch buffet, then this is exactly the kind of sandwich recipe that'll really "wow" 'em.
What You'll Need
- 1 loaf unsliced plain or seeded rye bread
- 1 (8-ounce) package plain Brie, softened
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 (8-ounce) package sliced Swiss cheese
- 1/2 pound sliced deli pastrami
- 1 (10-ounce) package baby spinach salad
- 1/4 pound sliced Havarti cheese
What to Do
- Slice the bread lengthwise into thirds. In a medium bowl, combine Brie, butter, crushed red pepper, and black pepper; mix well. Spread over cut sides of bread, including both sides of the middle section.
- On the bottom slice of bread, layer half of onion, Swiss cheese, pastrami, and half of spinach. Top with center section of bread, remaining onion, Havarti cheese, and remaining spinach.
- Replace top of bread and secure at regular intervals with sandwich toothpicks. Cut and serve.
