Remember the tuna melts and patty melts that most of us grew up on? Today we can make a quick snack that's a bit more special (and filling).
What You'll Need
- 2 packages (6 ounces each) small frozen croissants (12 croissants), thawed
- 12 maraschino cherries
- 1/4 cup prepared mustard
- 3/4 pound thinly sliced ham
- 1/2 pound thinly sliced Swiss cheese, divided
What to Do
- Preheat the oven to 325 degree F.
- Slice the croissants in half lengthwise, separating the tops and bottoms; set aside. Process the cherries and mustard in a food processor or blender until the cherries are completely chopped and mixed through the mustard.
- Spread 1 side of each croissant with 1 teaspoon of the cherry-mustard mixture. Divide the ham and 1/2 of the cheese evenly on the croissants. Cover with the croissant tops and divide the remaining cheese evenly on top of each croissant.
- Bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until the cheese is melted throughout. Serve immediately.
Notes
Put these together to the point of baking them. Then all you'll have to do is pop them in the oven just before you're ready to eat.
