Shortcut Won Ton Soup

- COOK TIME
- 15 Min
This Shortcut Won Ton Soup is a bit different than what you'd find at a traditional Chinese restaurant, but when we're in a hurry, we can throw it together and still reap the benefits of a warm bowl of soup.
What You'll Need
- 4 cup water
- 1 (2.25-ounce) envelope chicken noodle soup mix
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1/2 cup sliced celery
- 1/4 pound ham, cut into thin strips
- Sliced scallion for garnish
What to Do
- In a large saucepan, combine water, soup mix, peas and celery.
- Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in ham strips and cook until heated through. Top with scallion and serve immediately.
Notes
If you add crisp noodles just before serving, it will be a lot like the soup you live in Chinese restaurants. You can also use cooked chicken or turkey instead of ham. You might even add some pre-cooked meat ravioli during the last few minutes of cooking. Then it'll be similar to Chinese won ton dumplings.
