Remember Sloppy Joes? Our Turkey Joes are a take-off on the traditional, with the lighter twist of ground turkey substituted for ground beef. The flavor remains strong and tasty.
What You'll Need
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- black pepper to taste
- dash hot pepper sauce (optional)
What to Do

In a large skillet, heat oil; add turkey and brown. Add onion, celery, green pepper, and garlic and saute 5 minutes, stirring often.

Mix in remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered 30 minutes.
Notes
Serve on buttered, toasted buns.
