I've made pumpkin pies from a can, which makes two pies! And it all depends on the additives you put in it to make a true pumpkin pie! Now on the other hand I did eat home made pie from a real pumpkin that their Grammy (Tootsie) her nick name; made from scratch! She gutted it, pealed and cubed it to go in a pot of water! You would boil it like mashed potatoes ! So you put the same spices in it ,canned cream but the eggs had to make that pie almost like a custard! that was the best of my nolig

FASSBIND 1077749, YES YOU CAN MAKE THIS INTO PUMPKIN BARS. I USED A 8X13 SIZE CAKE PAN. IT'S ALSO GOOD IF YOU FROST IT WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING.

CORRECTION...USE A 9X13 PAN, NOT 8X13 AS I PREVIOUSLY SAID. (SORRY)

I am over 70 love to bake. I love to make any recipes with pumpkin in it, my pumpkin pies are the best or so i am told. I used to sell all my pies, in my younger years. my secret: look at the other side of your brand name can & always use that recipe for a great pie. I am going to make those muffins today put my spices in (follow recipe on can) and then rate them. this is my first time doing this. So hope i don't do something wrong Mr.Food you rock Snoopy39 Oct 18, 2013

What do you do with the rest of the can of pumpkin pie filling? Can it be frozen to make a batch later.

Yes it can be frozen, but I only use puree, not the mix. I'd rather add my own and I have made this with the pumpkin without adding sugar or spices and it tastes fine that way. I am wondering if these wouldn't be overly sweet or spicy.

you all use canned pumpkin and say you don't taste the pumpkin in what you're making. 1. read the label see what's in the can? 2. use fresh real pumpkin and for once taste the real difference. i know it will take a little longer to make. but oh boy it's good to the last crumb.

These are really good and very easy to make. Will be making them often. Pumpkin pie mix is just canned pumpkin with your spices and sugar already added to it. You can buy it at the grocery store right next to your solid pack pumpkin.
