Could it be assembled and held in the fridge longer than 15 minutes?

Sure can. I haven't made this particular recipe, but i have made other sandwich casseroles baked a few minutes after assembling, and put them in the refrigerator for 3 hours, more or less, before baking. I don't know that I would let it sit overnight.

I cut the recipe in half. Ate one and it was very good. Froze the other for later and when I defrosted and heated it up it tasted better than the fresh one! Good recipe!

A recipe I plan to fix for my grandchildren to try before they head off to school this fall. Also plan to use it for various brunches (larger batch of course). Can't wait to try.
