This patriotic fruit parfait is layered with red, white and blue spirit. It's a berry-licious smooth and creamy combo that shouts "Summer!"

    What You'll Need

    • 1 cup (1/2 pint) heavy cream
    • 1 tablespoon Triple Sec or other orange-flavored liqueur or orange juice
    • 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
    • 1 pint fresh blueberries
    • 1/2 pint fresh raspberries

    What to Do

    1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, liqueur, and confectioners' sugar until slightly thickened.

    2. Divide the blueberries equally among 4 parfait glasses. Drizzle three-quarters of the cream mixture over the blueberries then top with the raspberries, dividing the cream mixture and raspberries evenly among the 4 glasses. Drizzle with remaining cream mixture then cover and chill until ready to serve.

    Note

Instead of making this in parfait glasses, you can also serve it over slices of angel food cake to create a heavenly dessert.

When I see "parfaits" I think of the Shrek movie. Can anybody relate? I agree with donkey, "Everybody loves parfaits!" When in an establishment that serves them, I will get one but I never thought about making my own. No idea why because they are super easy to make. Great recipe.

In less than 70 short days, give or take, it will be the 4th of July and this would be a great treat to serve the family. I love the presentation pictured here in a proper glass but my gathering being an outside event, I will serve them in clear plastic cups. I can not wait to share this recipe with my friends and family.

This is the second year I made these. Everyone loved them. And they are very pretty served in the parfait glass. And for anyone wondering about the liqueur, you can't taste any of it. It just gives a hint of orange taste. You can easily use orange flavoring.
