Tart and tangy whole berry cranberry sauce and citrusy mandarin oranges co-star as the perfect tasty pairing in our luscious, colorful Cranberry Relish Squares that'll dress up your holiday bird or add pizzazz to an anytime weeknight meal.
What You'll Need
- 3 (4-serving-size) packages cranberry-flavored gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 (14-ounce) can whole-berry cranberry sauce
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 (11-ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
What to Do
-
Place gelatin in a medium bowl and add boiling water; stir to dissolve gelatin. Add cranberry sauce, pecans, and oranges; mix well. Pour into an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Cover and chill at least 4 hours, or until set. Cut into squares.
Notes
- These can be made several days in advance. Simply keep covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve. If you can't find cranberry-flavored gelatin, strawberry or cherry gelatin will work just fine.
- We love our relishes, 'cause they make tasty go-alongs with all kinds of dishes! How about trying our Amish Chow Chow and our Corn Relish, too!

I made this for the first time. Only difference I've made was #4 cups boiling water instead of two. The 2 cups look too syrupy. After looking at the other ratings. Their ideas are excellent for variations of the recipe. Couldn't find cranberry Jell-O so I used cherry. I took it to Thanksgiving dinner and was a great hit. I'll use it often and at different fruit and maybe even some chopped celery and carrots.

we've made a variation of this for years-only my mother used crushed pineapple instead of oranges.

Took it to a family Thanksgiving get together. Everyone loved it and each represented household had at least one member asking for the recipe.

I made this as a side for our Thanksgiving feast this year. Not only did people love it, my kids asked to have more of it pretty much every day until it was gone. We all agreed - "OOH IT'S SO GOOD!!"
