BLT Rollups
- SERVES
- 4
This kid-friendly recipe for a super school lunch is a twist on the traditional BLT. Call it a rollup or a wrap but use it for the kids' lunch boxes or your own brown-bagging. It's a chopped salad filling with the flavors of a BLT in a tortilla wrap.
What You'll Need
- 6 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 (3-ounce) container real bacon bits
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 (10-inch) flour tortillas
What to Do
- In a large bowl, combine lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, bacon bits, and pepper; mix well.
- Spoon mixture evenly onto center of each tortilla. Fold bottom of each tortilla over lettuce mixture then fold both sides over, envelope fashion. Fold top of each tortilla closed and turn seam-side down. Serve immediately.
Options
If you'd prefer, use light mayonnaise and whole-wheat tortillas and, instead of bacon bits, chop a quarter pound of deli turkey to mix in and create a "TLT" burrito.

My wife and I came up with a BLT twist. Add a slice of swiss cheese and a slice of raw onion to the sandwich either made with a tortilla or rye bread. Mmm, it's so good!

Have been trying to cut out using so much bread and this recipe fills the bill. Love BLT's and this combination sounds delicious. I plan to use real bacon and the Roma tomatoes. Looks like this will be lunch tomorrow

My son-in-law I really like these and takes them to work with him every time I offered to make them. I do use more bacon then in the recipe. I cook it up myself and then break it into larger pieces. I'm trying to cut out nitrates so I get the uncured no nitrate kind whenever I can and it just became available in bacon now. And I use Roma tomatoes which have less watery juice inside so it keeps the wrap dryer and the flour tortilla from getting soggy.

Great recipe. I'll use bacon, fry it crisp and crumble it to add to this instead of the bacon bits. I think the 6 cups will probably be OK in the larger wraps, not the smaller tortillas.

I have eaten a version of this that only had light salad dressing, lettuce and tomato using a 6-inch torilla. It was very good and surprisingly filling.
