- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
What to Do
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter; add spinach, and stir until heated through.
- Add remaining ingredients to spinach and cook 4 to 5 minutes, or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Serve immediately.
Lighten It Up
This is the creamiest if you make it according to the recipe, but you can lighten it up by replacing the heavy cream with whole milk and the regular sour cream with a reduced-fat variety. That alone will save you about 96 calories and 13 grams of fat per serving.

Ok, I have to know...has anyone ever had the same issue I have when it comes to creamed spinach? I absolutely love spinach...in salads, stir-frys, lasagna, eggs, and my favorite spinach artichoke dip...but no amount of money in the world could get me to eat creamed spinach, why is that? I've tried it before mostly because I really do love spinach, but I'm truly sorry to say I thought it was awful. LOL

i can't wait to make this recipe. My son and I love creamed spinach, but the way I was making it was just a tiny bit off. Who knew I should h ave been mixing my heavy cream 0/50 with sour cream? I just know this will be perfect!
