My Own Italian Meatballs
- SERVES
- 12
- COOK TIME
- 25 Min
Spruce up a plate of saucy spaghetti by adding in your very own homemade meatballs. When they ask you for the recipe, you can tell them "These are My Own Italian Meatballs!"
What You'll Need
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3/4 cup plain dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
What to Do
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well then form mixture into 12 meatballs and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until no pink remains and juices run clear (see Note).
Note
You can also brown the meatballs in a large pot over medium-high heat and then complete the cooking by simmering in your favorite sauce. And, for a complete meal, serve over hot cooked pasta.

I made this recipe and it was very good. I always put my meatballs into the simmering sauce raw to get all the flavor the meatballs give off. That is the way my mother always made her sauce and meatballs. Just simmer for 30 to 45 mins until cooked through.

Very good recipe and sooo easy. I probably would cut the garlic powder down to 1 tsp. , but if you really love garlic, don't change a thing. I did turn the meatballs half way through cooking for even browning. My meatballs were a tad smaller as I used a medium cookie scoop and it made 15. I cooked them for about 20 minutes, because I knew I would be letting them cook in my sauce for added flavor. I love Mr. Food recipes.

This is a great recipe. I've been making meatballs for 40 years and these meatballs were comparable to my family recipe--and less work. It's particularly good for the times when you don't need a large quantity of meatballs. Fast and delicious. Highly recommend.

Other than adding some chopped onion, I made the recipe as is and they are very good! I used my cookie baller and made that size; baked them and then fast froze them on a plate and stored them in a plastic bag. This way I can take out as many or as few as I want. I think I've found a new meatball recipe! Thanks!

You could use onion powder and save some work. These freeze very well!
