What You'll Need
- 1 1/2 pound beef round steak, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
- 1 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 large red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
What to Do
- In a large skillet, brown the steak and onion in the butter over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Add the beef broth, mushrooms, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
- In a small bowl, combine the water and cornstarch; mix well. Add to the skillet and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
Notes
