Another wonderful recipe and can make it so many different ways good with mushrooms, a little mayonnaise for flavor & moistness brown ground beef first with a medium onion can also use drained sauerkraut onions mushrooms shredded cheeses cubed baked or mashed potatoes Italian style.. pizza sauce or tomato sauce mozzarella cheese spinach green peppers pepperoni etc.

I like your style grannyblu! I see wonderful ethnic sandwiches on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives and they use sauerkraut or different kinds of slaw on their sandwiches, and I can't find them at any local restaurant, so it seems like I need to make them myself!

Hi BeckySue I guess I never paid much attention to other cooks replying to my comments before sorry for not answering earlier but YUP I am a foodie and love cooking baking To me recipes are inspirational and we get different ideas suggestions from others that makes our recipes over the top

Substituting ground turkey, chicken, or lean pork make this a flexible to make meal. Finely chopped celery adds a healthy fibre to rollup.

Brown meat first, drain, you can add a little marinara sauce to the meat mixture for a taster filling. Spoon drained meat on Pizza dough and other ingredience. If you don't want an Italian dish change seasonings to Spanish seasonings.

common sense tells you to brown the meat first..

This made own house smell wonderful!!!!

My husband and I thought this beefy roll lacked something. It was rather bland with no zip. But I did leave out the fresh basil leaves and used dried basil instead. It leaves much room for creativity. I think I will try it again with taco meat, leave out peppers and spinach and go a different route.

It is common sense, that the beef is LEAN!! There is no greasy bottom, when you use 93%.

That sounds like a greasy mess from the raw hamburger cooked inside the dough.

they forgot to mention that the ground meat is browned

is the ground beef cooked prior to assembling roll-up?

Thats what I want to know too. if its uncooked then you will have all that fat and mking it offul being soog on the bottom.?

This is extremely similar to a Bacon-Cheeseburger Roll-Up that I make regularly. I cook my ground beef in large skillet on medium-high until beef is evenly browned. Drain the beef and then spread on the pizza dough. It is baked for the same amount of time, which is really just needed to cook the dough.

yes it is

Is it ok to substitute fresh for frozen spinach? I tried it once and did not like it. But I do like the fresh.
