We've got the simplest tip to help you enjoy the great barbecue flavor we all love. Believe it or not, our Easy Barbecued Chicken recipe is made the way so many of the BBQ restaurants make their barbecued chicken.
What You'll Need
- 1 (2-1/2- to 3-pound) chicken, cut into eight pieces
- 1 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
What to Do
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Place chicken in a broiler-proof roasting pan and bake 30 minutes; pour off liquid.
- Pour barbecue sauce over chicken, distributing it evenly, then bake for another 20 to 30 minutes, or until chicken is fork-tender and no pink remains, basting occasionally. Turn oven to broil and leave chicken under broiler for 3 to 5 minutes to brown slightly. Serve immediately.
Notes
- This is great for a summer barbecue, too: Instead of putting the chicken under the broiler for 3 to 5 minutes after baking, place it on the grill for a few minutes, until browned.
- Okay, we won't keep you waiting any longer. Here's the secret to keeping the sauce on the chicken: Drain off the excess liquid before adding the barbecue sauce. It's that easy!
