Made exactly by recipe except that I did brown chicken first and used Cream of Mushroom because that was what I had. It was very very good. Whole family enjoyed it. Will definitely be making again. The only thing different I will do next time is thicken the sauce a little before serving.

I use 2 large boneless breasts instead. When done, remove breasts stir in small sour cream with 1 heaping Tbsp. flour mixed well in it. Add to soup cook 30 more minutes put breasts back into pot...delicious!

I am going to use a combination of the other reviewers' ideas to make my chicken. I will coat the chicken and brown it first in my multi-function slow cooker, then slow cook it. I love chicken dinners. I will probably serve it with noodles and a side vegetable.

It's a keeper! I browned chicken first by coating in flour and paprika. Used family size cream of chicken soup and added carrots, celery and dill weed. Easy to make.

Dawnwch that is a good tip about browning the chicken, but olive oil isn't a low fat alternative, all fats have the same amount of calories.

Is the chicken going in raw? Will it cook in 2 hours? I'm kind of new at cooking but chicken scares me anyway with salmonela and stuff. Thank you.

Buy yourself a good meat thermometer. Then you won't have to rely on people you don't know to give you advice they may be uncertain about themselves. But yest the chicken goes in raw and should cook easily in 2 hours under the correct circumstances.

Many people like to pre-brown the chicken to give it a better color in dishes like this. Just brown the chicken pieces in a couple tablespoons of butter (or olive oil for a low-fat alternative). Brown 4-5 mins per side at medium heat. This gives a slight boost to the overall cooking time also.
