Sweet 'n' Sour Tenders

These wonderful flavor combinations are sure to please your family. (Every so often you'll find sales on chicken tenderloins, and when you do, grab them! They're white meat at its best.)
What You'll Need
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into strips
- 1 package (7/8 ounce) sweet-sour sauce mix or 3 tablespoons sweet-and-sour sauce mix
- 1 can (20 ounces) pineapple chunks in syrup, drained (reserve syrup)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 medium-sized green bell pepper, cut into strips
What to Do
- In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat; add the chicken and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, or until browned on both sides.
- In a small bowl, combine the sweet-and-sour sauce mix, reserved pineapple syrup, water, sugar, vinegar, and ketchup. Pour over the chicken. Add the pineapple and green pepper. Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 10 to 12 minutes, or until heated through.
