Watermelon Salsa
There is no better way to beat the heat of summer than with the cool, refreshing taste of watermelon salsa. Try it on chicken, fish, or just dip chips into this fruity Watermelon Salsa.
What You'll Need
- 2 cups diced watermelon
- 2 cups diced fresh pineapple
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- Hot pepper sauce to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Granulated sugar, optional (depending on sweetness of fruit)
What to Do
- In a large bowl, combine watermelon, pineapple, onion, cilantro, and jalapeño pepper; toss gently.
- Add lemon juice and season to taste with hot sauce, salt, and pepper. If additional sweetness is desired, add a small amount of sugar. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
Makes about 4 cups salsa.

I recently tried the peach salsa and I was in love from the start. Watermelon is a favorite fruit so I think I would love this salsa. I think that the pineapple is really going to set the taste off. I cannot wait to try this.

Family tends to gather at my house during the summer. This is a great recipe to serve. Without doubling the recipe I can get four cups of salsa so I know I will have a gracious plenty to go around. Thanks!

I have a great use for this watermelon salsa! Use it on a spicy soft corn taco! You might want to add more cilantro too. Of course jalapenos. But this cool watermelon will take away some heat but leave the flavor of the jalapenos. I recently had a soft corn Taco, Gourmet Taco with pineapple salsa and jalapenos. And cilantro. What a great combination.
