My husband's and family's favorite holiday recipe. I add abt a cup of coconut, and use the lightly sweetened cherry pie filling, so it's not as sweet. It makes too much for our small family, and you can't eat too much at one time, so I freeze half of it for the next get together. Any where I've taken it, everyone loves it! Definitely never any leftovers.

Can a dessert recipe be any easier than this. I love the simple ingredients and the ease of preparation. The title is for cherry but I bet you can swap the cherry pie filling for the other fillings provided, like blueberry and get a different dessert.

This recipe for "That Cherry Stuff" is sort of like an in-between for jell-o and pudding. Very simple ingredients and really very easy to prepare and at my house will most likely be a winner on the dessert circuit.

I'm a little bit skeptical of something like this, but I would probably bring it to a potluck, because if I don't like it, someone will!

I don't like sweetened condensed milk do you have to use that or is there a substitute you can use. Too much sugar in the sweetened milk

Yuck I do not know how these ingredients cannot be good but not worth the calories. I thought it would be fun to make for Valentines Day. Waste of money, bummed me out.

Here we go again, Hater! Why do you even comment when you haven't even made it to try and taste it? Like my mother said, You won't know if you like it 'til you try it! So quit wasting comment space on this website 'til you've made it and can actually comment on it!

It is easy to put together no oven or cooking experience needed. I made this to use up a can of off brand cherry pie filling. This recipe has many 5 star ratings so I think I learned a lesson. While it tasted okay I think using quality ingredients would have made this even better. Some recipes need the good stuff and I would make this again using brand name ingredients.

LOVE IT! Used pineapple tidbits instead of crushed, and low fat Cool Whip. Froze some in small plastic bathroom cups, even better than when refrigerated.

I have been making this for years, minus the nuts. My Aunt used to make it, but she got a can of dark, sweet cherries and cooked it, thickening it with cornstarch. It was also delicious that way. AND--if you freeze it, it tastes like cherry ice cream!

I have made this desert for many years it is so creamy and crunchy at the same time. The desert tastes better after it sets over night in the refrigerator. I have also made one that has strawberry pie filling with the same ingredients as the cherry. If you are a strawberry lover like me you will really enjoy it . I serve these deserts at Thanksgiving and Christmas, i serve one kind at different holidays. My family always look forward to these deserts. Always use the best ingredients.

Sure you can try blueberries! I would say that you could probably still use pineapple with it, but it really depends on your taste! Sounds like a great option! Enjoy!

I make something like this and I always take a clean bowl home. The only difference is 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring. Cuts the sweet. Then it is frozen. Yummmmmmm

I have a neat software program called AccuChef that will calculate the nutritional facts for recipes. I think it cost about $20.00 but is well worth the cost as I have a 14 year old granddaughter that is Type I diabetic.

awesome. I made this today for Christmas dinner and everyone loved it. I love it because it is not only so good, but so easy and quick to make. This will be in "my favorites" recipe file. You can refreeze left overs (if there's any left over).

to make it more interesting, sprinkle toasted (or plain) coconut on top of some of the individual servings and top other with a different topping such as crumbled graham crackers or nuts or any combination. for a festive look at Christmas, add a green maraschino cherry on top or a mint leaf in place of or in addition to the red cherry. You could also tie a thin ribbon around the base of the serving dish if it is footed.

Love this -- I make it and add: Cottage Cheese Coconut Pecans low-fat sweet milk low-fat cool whip This makes it A LITTLE bit healthy with the cottage cheese. By using the low-fat items it also changes it a little. This is my favorite thing to bring to family gatherings, etc. and yes I call it the "Pink Stuff". God Bless and have a great day.
