Add a silky, smooth glaze to your breakfast with the addition of one of our favorites: Baked Apples. Perfect for a weekend brunch, this is a breakfast for the ages.
What You'll Need
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 (12-ounce) package frozen apples
What to Do
-
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Place butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet; place in oven for 6 minutes or until sizzling.
-
Meanwhile, combine milk and next 4 ingredients in a large bowl; beat well with a wire whisk. Remove skillet from oven; pour batter into skillet. Bake 17 minutes or until pancake is puffed, golden, and set.
-
While pancake bakes, prepare apples according to package directions. To serve, cut pancake into wedges, and serve with warm apples.
Notes
You may have heard a baked pancake referred to as a Dutch baby. Whichever name you prefer, be sure to serve the dish hot out of the oven before it deflates.
