I always make the dishes as written than post. It is not fair to give a poor rating if you have not followed the recipes.Give them a chance. Make your changes after you have tried the one posted. If they don't seem tasty, move on to something else. There are many more to choose from.

Does anyone ever actually make these recipes as they are written?

If you cook the pasta to desired doneness first, then bake it for an hour, doesn't it get mushy?

Cook the pasta to al dente, it will be fine.

I added garlic to bring it some flavor I also used turkey meat. next time I will use the italian sausage turkey meat, change the cheddar to ricotta, and add mozzerella and it will taste like an easy lasagna

I add mushrooms in place of olives and mozzarella in place of cheddar.

Kids love pizza..so I'm thinking maybe pizza instead of spaghetti sauce

I know this is an old comment but I use pizza sauce anytime it calls for spaghetti sauce...at least if I don't have time to make my own!

when the recipe calls for dry white wine is there a suitable substitute?

Chicken or Beef stock.

As much fat as regular ground beef has, I don't see the need for 1 tbl. of vegetable oil.

I usually use ground turkey and omit the oil.
