Chorizo is a spicy Mexican sausage, and my recipe is packed with spice...nine spices, to be exact!
What You'll Need
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
What to Do
- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients; mix until thoroughly combined. Cover and chill for 3 to 4 hours.
- Divide the mixture into 6 equal patties about 3 inches across and 1/2 inch thick. Cook in a large nonstick skillet over low heat for 6 to 8 minutes, or until no pink remains, turning halfway through the cooking.
Notes
Chilling the raw meat mixture for a few hours before cooking allows it to absorb the seasonings more thoroughly, giving your finished sausage patties really rich flavor.
