All it takes is a few canned items from your pantry and a couple seasonings to perk up ordinary pork chops. You have everything you need, so why not enjoy Pineapple Pork Chops tonight?
What You'll Need
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 (3/4-inch) pork loin chops (1-1/4-1-1/2 pounds total)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 (8-1/4-ounce) can pineapple chunks in juice, drained and juice reserved
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 (29-ounce) can yams, drained and cut into 1-inch chunks
What to Do
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, and pepper. Completely coat the pork chops in the flour mixture.
- In a large deep skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Brown the pork chops for 5 minutes per side.
- In a small bowl, combine the reserved pineapple juice, the brown sugar, and cinnamon; pour over the pork chops and cook until the sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat to low, turn the pork chops over, and add the pineapple chunks and yams to the skillet. Cover and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, or until heated through and the pork is cooked.

I made it for dinner. I did not not put yams in it because no one here likes them but I did put onion. Every one like it a lot.

I made these and they were awesome! My roommate (who doesn't usually like pork) even enjoyed them. A keeper.

Jim, I am sorry that lala felt the need to be so rude. I feel that there might be a reason that they are asking. Having the nutritional information is very helpful if you are in a hurry and looking for specific nutritional figures.

I have liver decease and must eat a very low sodium diet. Also low fat and low sugar is recommended. Taking 'a wild guess" or trying to use common sense can make me very sick. Thank you Jim for requesting the information.
