Did you ever think you could make Homemade Horseradish right in your very own kitchen? Well, it's true, and believe usit's much easier than you think it is. This tasty spice will add a dash of flavor to any meal you choose to cook it with. We think it's great to always have some of this on hand the next time you need to throw together something in a hurry. You never know when you might need just a bit of extra horseradish!
What You'll Need
- 1 to 1-1/4 pounds horseradish root, peeled and grated (about 2 cups)
- 1 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
What to Do
- Place the grated horseradish in a medium-sized bowl and add the vinegar, salt, and sugar; mix well.
- Place in an airtight glass container, cover, and chill until ready to use.
Notes
Horseradish shouldn't come in contact with plastic, metal, or wood for an extended period of time. And while it packs a punch when it's first grated, it loses intensity quickly if left uncovered.
