We love the sweet flavor of honeyit really just makes everything taste that much better. From tea to biscuits, we can't wait to add a bit of honey. Our special recipe for homemade Spiced Honey Sauce takes that honey we know and love and turn it into something even better. The addition of ginger and cinnamon really adds a new dimension to an all-time classic. It'll be the secret ingredient touch you need to make everything even tastier.
What You'll Need
- 1 cup honey
- 6 tablespoons whipping cream
- 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Dash of salt
What to Do
- Combine first 4 ingredients in a 2-1/2-quart saucepan (see note); bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Cook about 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove mixture from heat. Remove and discard cinnamon stick. Whisk butter, vanilla, and salt into mixture. Serve warm or cold over ice cream, waffles, fruit, pound cake, or cheesecake slices. Store in a jar in the refrigerator.
Notes
Note: Don't be tempted to use a smaller saucepan for this recipe. The mixture foams to more than twice the volume when it first comes to a boil. So use the recommended 2-1/2-quart saucepan.
