What You'll Need
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2/3 cup finely chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Paprika
What to Do
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and celery; cook, stirring constantly, until tender. Reduce heat to low; add flour, stirring until blended. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually add chicken broth and milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Stir in half-and-half and peanut butter; cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper to taste; sprinkle with paprika.
