What You'll Need
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 (32-ounce) container chicken broth
- 3 cups cubed cooked chicken
- 1/3 cup lime juice
What to Do
- Combine first 6 ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 2 to 3 minutes.
- Ladle into individual soup bowls, and serve with desired toppings such as cubed avocado, lime slices, fried tortilla strips, or shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
Notes
Fried tortilla strips are easy to make and are a great topping for this soup and ?they make a tasty treat to nibble on, too! Cut 4 (6-inch) corn tortillas into thin strips. Heat oil in a large skillet until hot. Add tortilla strips, and fry 3 to 4 minutes or until crisp. Drain on paper towels.
