I set out to make my husband soup for his cold but this ended up being more of a STEW. It was so good though. Was the recipe correct about 1 cup flour? I followed it exactly and it was yummy but thick like gravy.

Hi there! The Test Kitchen says that this is a hearty soup and the reason that it calls for 1 cup of flour is because of how it is made in a slow cooker. Enjoy!

IF YOU ARE A COOK , WHY WOULD YOU PUT THAT MUCH BOUILLION IN IF YOU THOUGHT IT WAS TOO MUCH, YOU CAN ALWAYS ADD IT LATER IF IT NEEDS IT. WHAT A SHAME TO THROW OUT THOSE GOOD INGREDIENTS!!!

I would like to try this recipe but don't understand why there's so many ingredients with salt like the soup mix, bouillion and then 1/4th teaspoon of salt too! I don't know what to omit.

I thought 1/4 cup of beef bouillon granules seemed like a lot, but I put it in anyway. Mistake! It was SO salty & had such an aftertaste! I added water to dilute it, but ended up throwing it all away. What a shame because it had wonderful ingredients.......
